Nurse RN Forum – I need your Home Health Care and Hospice input.: Hellooooo experienced Home Health Care a…

Hellooooo experienced Home Health Care and Hospice RNs (well, anyone who works within this industry, actually.) I’m working on a pretty cool project to help us do our jobs better and educate our new field staff, patients and caregivers. To make this a reality, I need your help. If anyone is interested in helping on this project, please send me an e-mail. tcrn75@gmail.com. What I need from you: Your health care horror stories. No names or specifics please. Just the general idea of what happened and what you did to resolve the situation. Be blunt and don’t worry about editing. I’ll take care of that department. Let me know if this were a hospice or a home health care situation. Your advice: If you could travel back in time to the week before you took the home health care or hospice job, what would you tell yourself? We nurses eat our young… instead of throwing them under the bus, lets help mold them into better home health care and hospice RN’s. What would you tell a new nurse to this field (it doesn’t matter if the nurse you’re giving advice to has been a nurse since the stone ages — we all know home health and hospice are a universe of it’s own). Your time: If you’re interested in becoming a partner in this project, let me know. I could use help with a dozen sections. It could pay off in the long run (and probably will) but I can’t make any promises just yet. Right now, this is a project. In time, it may become the source for all things hospice and home care which means sponsors and advertisements. You need to have access to the internet and a ton of advice for newbs to the field. PS: This is my very first post on indeed forums. My apologies if this is in the wrong section or generally not allowed.
