Nurse RN Forum – Hospital school vs. community college?: I’d love to become an RN. I’m moving to …

I’d love to become an RN. I’m moving to the Allentown area in a few years and am looking at various schools out there, like St. Luke’s School of Nursing (a hospital school) as well as the Lehigh Valley and Northampton community colleges. Another possibility would be a university, but those can be expensive. My fiance and I already agreed that I won’t work while in nursing school, and just focus on my studies– so I’d rather it not cost us an arm and a leg. Could any of you give me any tips for which type of school is best? Do employers look down on community college graduates compared to others? Is St. Luke’s a good school? Also, I have some medical assisting experience. Will that help me get into nursing school? Thanks in advance!
